Please learn to drive in the snow.

As I was preparing to head out for work this morning, as usual, I look out the window to see what the weather is like. Today, like the day, before the roads were slick and absolutley covered in slush, Ice, and Snow.

After yesterdays storm, and an accident where a women was crushed between two cars when she got out of her vehicle to help someone else who had crashed, I wanted to write a couple of lines about the importance of learning how to drive in the winter.

For one, SLOW DOWN. Just because you drive a big truck or SUV does not mean that you can cannonball down the road at 80 mph. Most of the vehicles that slide off or crash are bigger vehicles, with four wheel drive. Two, don't jam the gas pedal to the floor in order to try and go when its slick, you will have more traction if you feather the gas and try and keep your tires from spinning. Three, Don't ride the ass of someone else because they are going slow. More space is needed for stopping in slick conditions, and if you rear end someone, there is a 99% chance that you will be the one going to traffic court. Four, Pump the brake pedel if you start to slide when stopping. And for my last bit of advice, Go out and do some donuts, or handbrake turns, in a snow covered parking lot. This is one of the best ways to figure out how to react when your car slides or slips.

My Very First Post

Ok, now for my first trick, I have made a video of my truck driving around. This truck has been my passion since I first bought it at the age of 15. It is a 1947 Studebaker M-5. It sits on a 1984 Chevy S-10 frame, has a 350 ci. Chevy motor, Airride Technologies Suspension, and finally flame exhaust.

The truck is a true hotrod, as it was built with the help of my dad, brothers, friends, and lots of junk yard parts. We all learned a lot on this truck, and it has provided a lot of fun for the past 8 years. There is always something in the works on the truck, and I certainly will keep you up to date as the truck evolves. But without any further delay, enjoy the video.
